Fleur des Alpes
The model dates back to the 19th century, while the offered sculpture is a later cast.
It presents a magnificent depiction of a young woman dressing in traditional attire for a festivity. Both her posture and the intricate details are of exceptional beauty. The sculpture captures a profound tension—the folds of the fabric create a movement opposite to the direction of her face.
While the wind and the flowing garment evoke the temperament of youth, her face, in contrast to the positioning of her hands, conveys composed concentration.
This is truly one of the finest representations of a young woman. I discovered it at the foundry museum, but unfortunately, its provenance remains unknown.
