Bull

This monumental bull watches over its territory with an impressive presence. His head is raised and turned gracefully to the side, with eyes and ears alert. His tail is caught in a powerful motion, and his legs are tense with readiness.

This sculptural masterpiece was created by Isidore Bonheur (1827–1901) for the 1878 World Exhibition in Paris. The Sager company is now releasing a limited edition of five life-sized replicas, based on the original sculpture located in Paris’s Georges Brassens Park. The first piece in this edition, Taureau, ed. 1/5, will be presented at Giardina 2024.

Isidore Jules Bonheur was known for his realistic animal sculptures and was part of a team of sculptors who worked under the direction of P. Rouillard on behalf of the Sultan.
